Eric Peterson joins OX2 as Director & Shareholder (Press Release)

by

Eric T. PetersonBrussels, October 16th 2007 — Eric Peterson becomes shareholder of OX2, the Belgian/pan-European interactive agency leader in the field of measurement and analysis of online behavior, also known as Web Analytics or WA. Eric Peterson becomes a shareholder as well as a member of the agency’s board. As such, Eric’s mission will be to influence the WebAnalytics.be business unit by confronting his vision of web analytics against that of Aurélie Pols (Web Analytics Team Leader chez OX2). Eric Peterson will also travel to Europe to assist OX2’s European clients, should they require his unique presentation and strategic workshop management skills.
This announcement is the next logical step in the relationship between Eric Peterson (a leading guru of Web Analytics and author of 3 best-seller books on that topic ) and OX2.
As a reminder, when Eric Peterson publicly announced he was starting a new career as an independent consultant (after 8 years at Visual Sciences, WebTrends and Jupiter Research), thereby launching his new company, Web Analytics Demystified Inc. (www.webanalyticsdemystified.com), he wished to surround himself with field experts such as Aurélie Pols. A few weeks later, Eric Peterson and OX2 signed a European partnership in order to provide a comprehensive WA offering that includes both auditing and consulting services.
Aside from this unique partnership, Eric Peterson was drawn to the tremendous Web Analytics potential in Europe. As a matter of fact, Europe shows a somewhat lesser degree of maturity in terms of Web Analytics and there are fewer players in comparison to the US market. This is why it was interesting for Eric to join into the Belgian/pan-European agency’s stock.

« OX2 has imposed itself as an obvious choice to address the Central European market because it one of the handful of European agencies with such a sizeable team dedicated to Web Analytics. This team remains integrated in a holistic vision of the web, which prevents all silo-ed approaches.», says Peterson. « Beyond these purely strategic questions, both Aurélie Pols’s skill at understanding the challenges facing organizations that invest in Web Analytics – and her role within the‘Web Analytics European Dream Team’- as well as the multicultural aspect of the team were two decisive elements in my decision-making process. »
The first visible product of this new association will the publishing by OX2 of a French version of Eric Peterson’s most famous book on KPIs, ‘The Big Book of Key Performance Indicators’. The book should be released in the coming months.
Furthermore, Eric Peterson intends to make the most of his European presence to promote awareness towards Web Analytics as well as evangelize the European market by organizing workshops.
« This is a great honor bestowed upon us by Eric Peterson and even greater since this is a first for him. OX2 is actually the first company Eric joined as a shareholder. » says René Dechamps Otamendi, OX2’s CEO. « There is no doubt that his active participation in OX2’s activities will not only bolster our pan-European positioning but also allow us to maintain ourselves at the cutting edge of Web Analytics. And of course, European organizations will be able to benefit from Eric’s unique skill set. »
